Winter preparation for Dwarf Hardy Hibiscus

by Marlene
(Ottawa, Canada)

I live in Ottawa (zone 5, temperature may drop to 30 below cero)Canada, does this plant need any type of winter preparation? should I cut it down?
thanks
Marlene

Doug says the only care this hardy perennial requires is to be cut back to the ground after frost whacks off the top growth. That cleans up the leaves and removes any overwintering fungal problems (makes it look neater as well).

This plant if grown properly should handle your winters with no problem
