What blooming climbing perennial grows well damp shady area

(Maine)

I live in Central Maine and would like to find a blooming climbing perennial that grows well in a damp shady area..It does get some early morn and late afternoon sun. The area is quite wet in early, early spring but dries out to "moist" most of the rest of the season. I don't really care about the color or variety but I have an arbor I'd like to use for this purpose

Doug says - you're looking for a "vine" rather than a perennial. :-) And you're going to be looking at a Japanese Wisteria that should do well in that soil and light conditions. (note - not Chinese Wisteria but Japanese)

If not a vine - then I'm stumped because I have no idea what a climbing perennial is. :-))

Climbing perennial that grows in damp shade

Maybe someone already told you this because I have not figured out how to read anything but the first page of the comments posted but the Bluebird Clematis is a really good choice. I have one in my fern garden and it only receives sun in the morning and late afternoon, actually evening, and it does fabulously.
