Tree Peony

Tree Peony

I have 2 small tree peony plants. At first I didn't know what the ugly dead branch in the garden was. So I dug it up and it came apart in pieces. I moved them to a back corner and planted the pieces that still looked alive and forgot about it. Lo and Behold - the pieces thrived and I now have two lovely tree peonies and a smaller one just starting. Of course I moved them to a premier spot in our newly renovated garden to show them off.

I planted a sickly looking fern Peony last August. It almost immediately wilted and disappeared. When I dug up the root, it still looked viable so I replanted it. This spring, it produced six or seven stems, each with a flower.
