Transplanting Agapanthus
by Shannon

I recently transplanted some Agapanthus after dividing them. They look really sick - do I need to cut the foliage back or should I leave them alone?
Doug says that foliage is typically cut back on transplanting agapanthus. It allows the bulb to set roots without having to provide water to the foliage. By the time the foliage has recovered and regrown, so have the roots.
This is true with this bulb as well as many perennials.
