To move or not to move perennials

I want to settle a constant dispute my husband & I always have about gardening. We have many flowering garden beds and once the parennial goes in its spot my husband no matter what never wants it moved again. There are many times for the good of the plant it needs to be moved due to overcrowding or not right for the area. But my husband gets mad at me every time I say it needs to be moved.
So my question to you is please confirm its okay to move a parennial when necessary for the good of the plant and its normal for the most experienced gardener to move parennials.
Doug says that my kids believe my perennials all come with wheels on the bottoms because they get moved around a whole lot. I move them regularly to get a better combination or view of the garden. And I move them when they get too big or aren't doing well in that spot or when I want to put them in a container for a summer. It's a rare plant in my garden that gets "put" - and stays there for more than a few years.
Sorry guy. :-)
