Shade Perennials Zoning

by Nathalie Lessard
(Quebec City, Quebec, Canada)

Hello,
I have a very shady spot in my backyard and I'd like to fill it with perrenials. I wonder wich ones I can use as I live in a 4a Zoning area. I love flowers as green too, but I prefer for this place taller plants like 36" and over. Can you help me with some suggestions?
Thank you
Nathalie

Doug says that the list of taller perennials should give you a good start. Most if not all of these will survive in your garden. Some of them such as Astilbe, Astilboides, Campanula, Cimicifuga, (Actaea) Digitalis, Taller Ferns, Kirengeshoma, and Polygonatum should get you started in the deep shade.
