Raising the height of my existing garden bed

I hope I have the right section (the plants in question are all perrenial type plants).

I am going to raise the height of my garden bed by about a foot. Do all the plants need to be dug up and replanted a foot higher? There Japanese Maples, berry bushes, a few vines and miscellaneous perrenials.

Doug says that yes, all plants have to be dug out - then the garden soil level raised and the plants replanted. Burying them will kill them. I'm just doing exactly the same thing so wish you well too.
