I purchased a cordyline red star last year and planted it in the garden. This spring no leaves are alive and it has no show of any life as of yet. April 25. I am in zone 6 and purchased it in a nursery here in Conn. Has it died due to too cold temps. or am i just being impatient?
Doug says if you left this plant outdoors in CT - my guess is that you have one less plant to worry about. This is a warm-area perennial and has to be treated as a tender-perennial in CT (bring it indoors) Sorry.
To be sure - poke around where the plant was - you'll likely see a rotting stem. If the stem isn't rotting but still hard and firm- you have hope.
