Plant perennials around holly bush

by Taruna

Hello,
Is it sufficient to have 12 -17 inches between the stem of a holly bush and a perennial plant i want to put in it's vicinity?

Thanks,
Taruna

Doug says - that's lots of space as long as the perennial isn't some big honking thing that will cover over the holly leaves. Covering the leaves will cause the shrub to drop those leaves. So just make sure you don't cover over any holly leaves (remove them from sunshine) or you'll lose those leaves on the shrub.
