Perfect Soil!

What is the soil type that is needed for the Black Eyed Susan to grow in? Also what is the best soil type if it can grow in multiple ones.
Doug says you want an open (well-drained) soil that is medium rich in nutrients and reasonably high in organic matter. The well-drained allows the soil to have the dry crowns in prefers. The medium rich feeds it and the organic matter holds enough moisture in the soil to carry it through droughty summers.
