pathway plants in shade

I wanted to plant woolly thyme between the flat bricks in a shady spot at the garden shed entry but I understand thyme likes lots of sun. What could I use instead? This area will be walked on.

Doug says the hard cold truth here is that nothing, no plant I know of is going to both grow in the shade and be walked on regularly. If you were going to walk on it every now and then or brush it, you could use a moss. But no ground cover plant such as thyme is going to survive in the shade *and* be walked on.

Sorry.

Shade & trample immune groundcover

Check out ajuga. Pretty foliage varieties and pretty tiny little flowers. I have it all around my raised beds where there's quite a bit of traffic. It even gets mowed!
