Need ground cover

by Amy
(upstate NY)

Hi,
I have a sloped backyard, which is a bit rocky, and quite sunny. I would like to plant a ground cover on this hill, preferably by seed (as it appears to be the cheaper route). I would like a short plant, that will grow and spread VERY quickly. I am OK with invasive.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!
Amy

Doug says you want cheap. You want fast. You want invasive. You got sun and steep slope. The only plant that's going to do all of this is the CrownVetch. It's a noxious spreader that self-sows but does everything you ask for. Seed is available but you'll have to do an online search.

What about some form of mint? I planted chocolate mint not inside a barrier, and it had spread everywhere within a few months.

If you plant crown vetch your neighbors will end up hating you. It goes everywhere!
