can I cut my lillies back now they have lots of dead leaves and will they come back and bloom the rest of the summer

Doug says that they shouldn't have dead leaves on them so soon in the season. Sounds as if you need to increase your watering and get them to regrow. But yes, if you have dead leaves, you can prune off the dead leaves, give this daylily a shot of organic fertilizer and start watering. It may indeed respond with a good set of new blossoms.

don't cut daylilies back

Don't cut them back - as I said it's in the genetics. They'll either bloom or not - and Stella should by herself.

but what if?

But what if they don't have dead leaves? Should I cut them back in the hopes of more blooming?
