Lemon Balm Discoloration
by Gary
(Singapore)
Many of my lemon balm's leaves are discoloring... and this happened only in the past one week. It started with just some brown-ness at the tip of the leave and soon engulfing the whole leave. Now almost all the leaves are beginning to turn colour too. But the plant still looks healthy. How can I remedy it?
Doug says that it sounds like powdery mildew (in a warm climate) or at the very least one of the leaf fungal problems. Here in North America, we simply cut them back and let them regrow next year when it happens at this time of year.
You could treat for powdery mildew but I have no idea what to tell you about growing this plant in your area. Singapore is a long way from Canada with entirely different growing conditions.
Good luck
