Leaves curled up

Why are some of the leaves on my coneflowers curling up and feel dried out. Others are healthy in the same bed.

Doug says that curling leaves are stress symptoms. Likely an insect attack of some kind (possibly spider mites) or possibly a salt/fertilizer imbalance that has stressed it out.

It's really hard to say what it is from a distance - identifying issues like this with only a "curled leaf" symptom could be any number of stressors on the plant. Bottom line - you have to figure out the difference between the healthy ones by looking at the management and insect level on the plants. Sorry I can't be of more help - there isn't "one right answer to this question".

Cornflower leaves curl up and turn dark
by: Anonymous

Hi,

My cornflowers' leaves are curling up and turning dark too. I am sure there's insert attack as some leaves are being eaten. I went out at night to check and found nothing. There's no weed around the plants and all have good ventilation. Please help!
