how does an Oak tree affect the soil in my garden?

Hi. We have had an oak tree in the middle of our garden that was planted 27 years ago. Last weekend we finally transplanted it far away from the garden area, and are hoping it will survive. My question is, how have all those years of oak leaves falling on my flowers and vegetables affected the soil? Should I now feed that area with something special? Has it ruined the area? At the moment it is mostly flowers, but veggies will be up and going, if not this year, next year for sure. Thank you!

Doug says - you moved a 27 year old oak tree. Wow. But there's been absolutely no change in the soil pH (if you're thinking acidity) and you can simply garden there. No problem for the flowers - simply increase organic matter and your flower production will increase dramatically.
