Hosta Leaf Bleaching

My hosta are leaf bleaching out. I have a Hosta, the one with white flower and they smell like lilies.  Well my question is, its been a couple of years now and each year it comes up, about this time of year, it looks like it looses some of it colour and some of the leaves look like there is something eating or sucking the juice out of them.  Have you seen anything like that?

Thanks Doug, by the way we live in Brampton, Ontario.

Bleached leaf hosta
Hosta tend to bleach if they're getting too much sunshine. And this can take several forms from straight color loss to tip and leaf edge burn.

Something sucking the leaf color could be sunshine or it could be a leaf hopper or other leaf sucking creature (aphids or spider mites)  Check the bottom of the leaves for very fine webbing.

The pictured Hosta were likely visited by a slug or hungry beetle but they're very thick leafed varieties so slugs are less of a problem on  them.
