hosta are different sizes

one of my hostas has huge leaves and the other one planted only a few feet away..is sparce and not mounded and full..is there something I can do?

Doug says that yes, there are several things you can do. First make sure they are the same variety. Different hosta grow to different sizes.

Second - improve the soil. Toss a shovel of compost around both hosta.

Third - make sure they're in the shade to part shade.

Fourth - you can water them properly - an inch to an inch and a half a week unless they're under trees - then double that.

In short - make sure they *should* be the same size and then give them what they want.
