hibiscus in the South

My hibicus has long and spindely limbs and the limbs have very few leaves. They are tall and somewhat bare. What can I do to correct this? I Miracle grow them and water them regularly.

Doug says (nice name) but your hibiscus need pruning. Cut off the growing tips to force new growth behind and bush them out. There will be series of seminars to include pruning coming up in a few months at at the seminar series

As for MiracleGrow - let me suggest a shovel of compost every month of so is going to keep your plant a lot happier. The extra organic matter in that Florida heat is going to help hold water and feed your plant.

I also suspect a bit of shade during the heat of the day will benefit this plant in your location.
