Growing French Lavender indoors.

Can you grow French Lavendar successfully in a pot indoors ? I live in Quebec and I am wondering if it will be too cold to leave it in the garden over the winter.
Doug says that yes you can overwinter the French hybrids indoors.
They'll require a cool resting period in mid-winter but as long as you give them a LOT of light, they'll winter fine. A south-facing window or grow-lights is important. Otherwise they'll get really long and lanky next spring.
You will have to trim them back in the spring in any case so this isn't really critical. Lower light levels will mean a more drastic pruning will be required.
The trick is to watch your watering (not too much, not too little) and overwatering will rot and kill them.
Good luck
