flamingo phlox, coneflowers and clay soils

by Rick

I had some flamingo phloxx and coneflowers last year and they did not do so well. They are in clay soil that gets moist often. Could these conditions be why they did not do well last year?
P.S. You guys are great.
Thanks
Rick

Doug says that neither of these plants is going to do well on clay soils. Both are meadow types of plants and want good drainage. Full sun, good drainage and decent fertility will see a great performance.
