Fall Blooming Aconitum

zone 2 Monkshood

"Fall Blooming Aconitum or Monkshood" is the title of a question from a gardener.

I live in a zone 2 gardening area and this picture was taken Aug 23, 2007. They are partenered with Hosta, Lady's Mantle and Lungwort which are all shade loving plants. These plants get very little sun in the morning but a little more in the evening. There is no hot sun from the afternoon accessible to them. They also get a dose of compost in early spring before they are 3-4" high for easier application for myself.
They are about 5 1/2 ft tall.
