Cemetery Perennials

My mother is getting on in years and still wants to take care of my fathers grave & I am not available to help her as much as she would like. I suggested we try some perennials - it cant grow more than 12-15 inches in high - full sun and not a lot of care. Please make any suggestions.
Doug says get Stella daylilies. There are several different colors now (yellow was the first). They're easy to grow, full sun, bloom several times during the season and are roughly the right height.
Do understand however that perennials are NOT less work than annuals. They still have to be weeded and deadheaded when the blooms are done. No difference there. You simply don't have to plant them in the spring. But folks looking for low maintenance gardening are not going to find that perennials are any less work. Slightly different work - that's all.
Daylilies - the everblooming kind - are bone hardy and will give you good foliage (a bit of grass isn't a problem because the foliage is thin and upright too) and decent blooms.
