Cemetary blooming ground cover
Our cemetary is very shady & dry. My mother always said "any plant put up there would die". I guess that's what a cemetary is all about, nothing or no one is alive up there on this Kentucky Mt. but trees and weeds! I would like to know if there is a groundcover that blooms, likes shade and dry conditions? My son was killed in 2007 & someday I will be there also but before I go, I would like to make it nice! It is a family cemetary so I can plant what I want. Any suggestions?
Doug says try Epimedium. Will tolerate shade, dry, is drought resistant (although you have to water it to establish it), slowly spreads and isn't invasive, leaves turn reddish in the fall. Spring blooming. Nothing blooms all summer before you ask. :-)
