Butterfly Bushes
Butterfly bushes question:
I have four Butterfly bushes in my yard and when in bloom they are beautiful. However the purple blooms last a very short time and turn into ugly , dried brown blooms.
What can I do to make the blossoms last longer?
Thank you.
Helen
Doug says:
The only real thing you can do to extend the life of blossoms is to provide them with adequate water.
If the soil dries up, the first thing to suffer is the bloom.
But if your ground isn't parched and dry, then welcome to the wonderful world of gardening where no flower ever lasts as long as we'd like it to.
