Broken Purple Fountain Grass

We were planting and one of our fountain grasses broke off right at the soil line. Should I return it or can it be saved? Thanks, Anna.
Doug says as long as the roots weren't rotten so that it "broke off" because of rot (the nursery fault) then it should reshoot from the bottom.
Doesn't sound like a very strong or large plant to me though so I'd be very tempted to return it.
You can check for rot by scraping away some of the surface soil to see if there are any "white and solid" roots under there. Mushy roots mean rot.
