Blue & Gold Spiderwort Browning

Sad spiderwort
I have blue and gold spiderworts in the front of my home (facing west). It gets some shade in the morning, but otherwise it is in a sunny location. These are transplants from my mothers garden. My problem is and has been for 3+ years that by June & July the plants look really yucky with the leaf tips turning brown and crispy. I usually cut them back, but it's a persistent problem all blooming season. I do get plenty of blooms and they are beautiful, but the leaves just look bad. What do you recommend?
Doug says he'd recommend you amend your watering practices. This plant demands constant water in the soil if it's to grow properly. This kind of tip burning means you're letting the plant dry out - then water -then dry out (repeat all summer) and you're going to create this tip burning. Put it in a spot where it gets more even and regular moisture and you're going to find it will grow better.
