There's ants on peonies in my garden
Doug says:
Leave those poor ants alone. :-) Ants do not hurt peonies.
And interestingly enough and contrary to garden myth, they don't help peonies either.
Peonies will open nicely on their own thank you. They're just up there sampling the sweet sap that the peony bud produces. Like a shot of sugar for them.
Ants are the clean up crew in your garden - destroying tons of fungus and weed seed every year.
And chemical sprays can easily "burn" tender buds if they are the wrong spray and not registered or mixed improperly.
So dump the chemical and leave the ants alone. :-)
